FC United - The reds could be going green!

Installation of energy efficient heating and lighting during refurbishment of our St Mary's Road End stand.

Support us to help further develop space within our ground, which will enable the club to provide better facilities to both our match going supporters and local community throughout the week.

We are a football club with true community values. If you don't already know who we are, please see why we are different by reading our bio, above on the right hand side >>

In 2015, following the long awaited opening of the clubs ground, Broadhurst Park in Moston, Manchester, we recognised that with better facilities in the St. Marys Road End stand, engagement with both match going supporters and local community groups could be greatly improved. Planning permission was obtained from Manchester City Council in June 2016. With funding in place, in June 2017, our membership approved that the work should commence. The club has appointed a project management team to oversee the works and the tendering process for specific contract's has commenced.

The bottom line is that if we are successful in this vote, the club will be able to install enhanced resource efficient heating and LED lighting that will help us to:

  • Reduce our energy costs which will enable further investment into the club and its community programmes;
  • Allow the facility to open more frequently throughout the week, providing a community space for both supporters and local residents;
  • Help to promote increased awareness of resource efficiency.

The video above highlights one of our recent initiatives, where the club were able to help Manchester's homeless on Christmas Day.

Please vote for us, and thank you for your support.

We Won!!!

We’re delighted to announce that FC United have won the M&S Energy Fund in the north west regional vote. Attracting almost 7,000 votes we were the most popular project across the UK, so a MASSIVE thank you for all your support.

The £12,000 award will help the club to install energy efficient measures (including lighting and heating) during the redevelopment of our St. Mary’s Road End Stand, this will allow the club to:

  • Reduce our energy costs which will enable further investment into the club and its community programmes;
  • Allow the facility to open more frequently, providing a community space for both our supporters and our local residents;
  • Help to promote increased awareness of resource efficiency.

Again, many thanks for your support not only in voting for us but also to those who helped to promote the project over the last few months. We can’t wait for the space to open next year!
