Here at M&S Energy, we want to enable more communities in the UK to generate renewable energy and become environmentally and financially sustainable. We first launched the fund in July 2015 with some fantastic results. We received over 240 applications, shortlisted 136 projects and announced the 26 project winners in October 2015.
Since the funds were distributed to our 2015 winners, they’ve made great progress to install and are now enjoying the benefits of renewable energy generation. It’s been a fantastic year following up with our winners, and hearing their stories.
The 2016 applications are now closed.
We have up to £350,000 of funding to award to renewable energy projects around Great Britain.
If you’ve got a not for profit project that wants to use renewable energy to provide community benefits, this is your chance to secure funding! Whether you’re a community energy group, a sports club or simply an organisation that wants to have a positive impact on the environment, we want to hear from you.
This year, applications are open to projects who require a maximum of £12,500 within each of the 21 M&S regions.
You can apply if you are looking to install:
- A renewable technology
- Battery storage
- Energy efficiency
JUDGE'S DISCRETION PRIZE
Last year, some funding had been held for the judge’s discretion prize, awarded to projects that although didn’t win through the public vote, may still be in with a chance to win funding towards their projects for going the extra mile during the competition phase. We were delighted to surprise 5 worthy projects with the judge’s funding.
This year, a minimum of £20,000 of funding will be shared amongst the most inspiring projects.
HOW IT WORKS
- To have a chance to win, complete the online application for the funding amount you need.
- If your project has been shortlisted, the competition begins! Organise support from your community.
- The projects with the most validated votes per region will secure their funding. We’ll also announce funding for those inspiring projects we felt went the extra mile for their community.
If you simply want to support your local community energy group, check back on www.mandsenergyfund.com for campaign information and placing your vote!
